IGFALS Gene Polymorphisms in Simmental Breed Cattle

چکیده
Defining new genetic markers to understand the population structure and basis of cattle breeds, increase production improve yield quality is great importance in field modern breeding technology. In this study, it was aimed identify molecular marker polymorphisms by using DNA sequence analysis method on Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein, Acıd-Labile Subunit (IGFALS) gene, which affects different characteristics cattle. 20 samples from PCR products with various base sizes were randomly chosen for analysis. The study revealed that IGFALS gene’s first exon region, 492 bp long, contains g.1368491 A/G polymorphism. A 463 length region second where g.1369854 -/G insertion found.

Relationships of growth hormone gene and milk protein polymorphisms to milk production traits in Simmental cattle.
The importance of milk proteins and the positive effect of administration of growth hormone (GH) on milk production, and the presence in some dairy cattle lines of greater GH concentrations prompted us to examine the presence of restriction fragment length polymorphism at the GH gene using the restriction enzyme TaqI and to investigate associations between this polymorphism in Simmental cows an...
متن کاملSyndrome of arachnomelia in Simmental cattle
BACKGROUND The syndrome of arachnomelia is an inherited malformation mainly of limbs, back and head in cattle. At present the arachnomelia syndrome has been well known mainly in Brown Swiss cattle. Nevertheless, the arachnomelia syndrome had been observed in the Hessian Simmental population during the decade 1964-1974. Recently, stillborn Simmental calves were observed having a morphology simil...
متن کاملPerformance of crosses among Hereford, Angus and Simmental cattle with different levels of Simmental breeding. II. Effect of calf breed on cow productivity.
Hereford cows were randomly bred to Hereford, Angus, Simmental X Hereford and Simmental sires. Each sire breed group was represented by nine or 10 sires. These matings produced approximately 100 calves in each sire breed group over 4 yr. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of calf breed on characteristics of the cow such as milk production, reproduction, measures of conditio...
متن کاملAssociation between the Melanocortin-4 Receptor (MC4R) Gene Polymorphisms and Growth Trait in Sumba Ongole Cattle
Melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) gene has been known as a candidate gene for growth traits in livestock. This research was aimed to identify the polymorphism of MC4R gene and its association with growth traits in Sumba Ongole (SO) cattle. The growth traits data consist of body weight and body size. Eighty four blood samples were collected and used for DNA isolation. The...
